wax FAQs

Why choose waxing for hair removal?

Waxing has been the preferred method of hair removal for Egyptian women for thousands of years, since the hair comes back finer and thinner with each waxing service. Unlike lasers, waxing is considered safe for most skin types. Unlike shaving, you will be completely hair-free for 2 weeks, then as it grows in, it does not feel prickly like shaved hair. You can “get up and go” and not worry about unwanted hair every morning!

Does waxing hurt?

Because the hair is being pulled out by the root, yes, there is some minor discomfort, similar to tweezing several hairs out at one time. But when the proper products and techniques are used, there is minimal irritation to the skin. Most of our first time clients comment that it didn’t hurt nearly as bad as they thought it would!

How long do I have to let my hair grow out?

The longer, the better! Usually 2-3 weeks, or 1/4 inch long. The hair must be long enough to get a smooth waxing service. The first “grow-out” is the worst, since the hairs are prickly due to shaving, etc. Subsequent grow-outs will be much easier, since the hair comes back finer and thinner.

How long will I be smooth after waxing?

You can expect 2 weeks completely hair-free. During weeks 3 and 4, the hair is coming back in, but because it was pulled it out at the root, new hairs are growing out at different growth cycles. Most clients prefer to come in monthly, so they can keep the smooth feel.
